Fredi’s Jazz Band is a Big Band of Jazz borned with the aim of enjoying of the universal language that is music, to share it, to know how to work as a team and make us grow as persons. To be in contact with this unique force, makes us all united.
In Fredi’s Jazz Band we are united by a guiding thread which is music, a musical language that is Jazz, and in the language style that is swing amongst others.
Both in individual and collective classes what we are building is a creative spirit in which the pupil is surprised of its own creative capacity. Everybody has things in its interior to explain, and what we do is to make their feelings flow through music.
Classes are focused in two ways: first, to have a knowledge of musical language in which we are based, by listening to music as well as practicing it through melodical technical exercises, by getting solos from other composers, exercising memory in this way, and also exchanging musical scores. Instead second way is more creative, we play with music, starting with a note a pupil plays while others listen with attention, and immediately afterwords the others incorporate creating a musical symbiosis, another way to experiment with music is through images, pictures, photos or colours where we try to describe with the instrument what they apport to us.
I try that pupils don’t think or reason in any way in creative art. If I see that they are turning around too much on what they want to do or they get stucked, I distract them from this mental occupation that they are having, so they get free and clean spontaneously.
In this parameters, borns all this set of sensations and creative forms, and Fredi’s Jazz Band includes all these.
